Yi-Wen Chen

Assistant Professor

Yi-Wen Chen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing at National Sun Yat-sen University, and continues to serve as an adjunct clinical assistant professor at National Cheng Kung University. Her research centres on child protection in healthcare settings, with a particular focus on pediatric abusive head trauma — how healthcare professionals recognise it, how parents understand the risks, and how prevention and training programmes can be designed and evaluated. Before joining NSYSU she spent over fifteen years at National Cheng Kung University Hospital as a pediatric nurse and later as a head nurse. Her current work extends to trauma-informed care for foster caregivers and the epidemiology of filicide-suicide in Taiwan.
