Yi-Wen Chen

Dr. Yi-Wen Chen's research focuses on child protection, particularly the clinical competencies of healthcare professionals in identifying and managing child maltreatment, as well as the care and prevention of abusive head trauma. She has been involved in the development and validation of instruments related to competency on child maltreatment and awareness of abusive head trauma, with findings published in peer-reviewed journals.

Clinical competencies of healthcare professionals, validation of screening tools, and hospital-based case management for child protection teams.

Abusive head trauma

Instrument development and validation, nationwide epidemiology, and the effectiveness of parenting education and prevention programmes.

Trauma-informed care

How foster caregivers become trauma-informed practitioners, and cross-network collaboration in child and youth protection.
